Hours by Season

Come by the farm year round to shop or take a tour and meet the animals. You can see all of our animal friends only by joining one of the regularly scheduled public tours or by booking a private or group tour in advance.

Please see the seasonal hours below to determine your best time to visit our farm family.

We also host frequent events that you can read about here.

Public Tours; What to Expect

Meet our animals by joining us for one of our public tours or by booking a private tour. Our tours are guided walking tours of our working alpaca farm. Get up close and personal with the alpacas, llamas, angora goats, guardian donkeys, dogs, and all the other animals that call Apple Hill Farm home.

-Please arrive on time. We are a working farm with many visitors – the tour leaves promptly on time and we don’t want you to miss it.

-Wear your walking shoes and dress in layers.

-Our farm is hilly, and our pathways can be muddy depending on the weather.

-The tour is generally 45 to 60 minutes in length

-Each tour is a conversation: We encourage you to ask lots of questions and get to know your tour guide and the other people on the tour!

Please leave your pets at home; Our farm is a working farm and is not pet-friendly.

-Sorry, no picnicking. However, both the Valle Crucis Park and Banner Elk Park are just minutes away!

We do not offer apple picking – we are a working alpaca and angora goat farm. We are happy to refer you to farms that do offer apples!

-Bring your camera, and have lots of fun!
