Apple Hill Farm Store lets you bring a part of our family home with you.
From socks to needle felted figures, our store offers a carefully chosen collection of gifts and items made from alpaca fiber for you, your friends, and your family.
From Our Hands to Yours
Once a year, we shear or shave the fiber off of each alpaca. After a process of blowing and picking any dirt, leaves, and hay out of each fleece, we send it either to a mill to be spun into yarn or to an alpaca co-op (owned by alpaca farms) where it is made into yarn as well as socks, bags, and scarves.
We love imagining how a part of our farm winds up on your best friend’s feet or around your mother’s shoulder. We also love seeing it as our fans send us photos of our items at their new homes.
Our Expanded Family
Our store has grown with demand. We have sought other unique products made from alpaca that meet our standards, and we also feature local books, jams and jellies, and more.
We buy from people not companies. All fiber products come from sources that are trading fairly in other countries or are American-made.
We are the connection between you and the person making the item. Profits from the store go to support the farm and the animals.
Alpaca fiber is hollow core and soft-to-the touch, making it perfect for many applications. The insulating quality of alpaca allows a sweater or vest to keep you warm when you are outside but not hot when you come inside. The socks worn in the winter keep your feet dry and warm, while in the summer they wick moisture away to keep your feet cool and dry. Alpaca is hypo-allergenic because it does not contain lanolin, a substance found in sheep wool. Our socks truly let you get in touch with what’s real.
